In a world where humans walk among the stars and have survived a global pandemic, our existence is more profound than ever. We live, we breathe, and we matter. But what does it truly mean for our flicker of life to burn so brightly now, in this moment? We invite you to explore these questions and share your unique perspective. Out of nearly 8 billion people alive today, what does it mean to be you? What defines your existence, and how does your personal journey shape the world around you?

Whether through fiction, poetry, personal essays, or creative non-fiction, we want to hear your stories. We seek pieces that capture the essence of life, individuality, and the human experience. Selected works will be featured in a published book, “Awake My Soul: Voices of 2024.”

Submission Guidelines

• Theme: "Who Are You?"

• Genres: Fiction, poetry, personal essays, creative non-fiction

• Deadline: November 15, 2024

• Word Limit: 3,000

• Submission Format: Please email your submission as a Word document attachment to contact@themoonrivercafe.com with the subject line: "Submission: [Title]". Include your name, contact information, and a brief bio in the body of the email.

• Additional Information: The use of AI-generated content is prohibited. Simultaneous submissions are accepted, but please inform us promptly if your work is accepted elsewhere.
  Multiple submissions are welcome, but please send each submission in a separate email. Submission is free. Unfortunately, we cannot offer monetary compensation at this time.
